NAKUMATT KEL

Nakumatt Kel is an initiative of Hope Institute focused on empowering young people through, Cultural Exchange by promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation among youth. Organizing events, workshops, and programs that foster personal growth, leadership, and community engagement. Encouraging physical activity, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles among young people. Equipping young people with skills, confidence, and opportunities to become active citizens. Foster a sense of community and social responsibility among youth. Help young people develop their talents, interests, and passions. Our activities including Beauty Pageant and Fashion Show, using sport (Football Tournament as a medium for promoting peaceful coexistence among the youth and support to local artists through recording sponsorship, video shoot and organizing local concerts.

The Nakumatt Kel Sport for Peace initiative aims to use sports as a medium to bring young people together, fostering peaceful coexistence and social cohesion. Encourage young people to build relationships, trust, and understanding across different backgrounds and communities. Use sports to develop essential life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution. Empower young people to become agents of change, promoting peace and social cohesion in their communities. Engage young people in community activities, promoting a sense of responsibility and ownership.

Beauty Pageant show including Miss Latjor is a women led initiative that empowers women to realize their ambitions and build self-confidence as a catalyst for future success. Miss Latjor is one of the sisterhood community initiative committed to uplifting one another. While Latjor represent Greater Eastern Jikany area of (Nasir, Ulang, Maiwut & Longechuk) Counties in Upper Nile State, it also embraces unity among the South Sudanes communities. We create safe space for women to share their stories and drive impact personally, professionally and philanthropically. The women who participate in this platform serve as inspirational leaders and role models.

Nakumatt Kel's Support for Local Artists initiative is a poweful program that bring local artists together to promote unity, healing, and reconciliation through music and art. Offer a platform for local artists to showcase their talents, share their stories, and connect with their audience. Foster a sense of community and social cohesion through live concerts and events. Our support to local artists packages including; Studio Air time for recording songs, video shoot and musical practices. The impact of this initiative is contributing to social cohesion and community building through the universal language of music and art. Facilitate cultural exchange and appreciation among community members. Empower local artists to share their voices, stories, and talents with the community and encourage community engagement.

Promote unity, healing, and reconciliation among community members through the power of music and art. Provide opportunities for local artists to express themselves, share their experiences, and showcase their talents.
PROJECT Result:
By supporting local artists and promoting unity, healing, and reconciliation, this Nakumatt Kel initiative can have a positive impact on the community, fostering a sense of togetherness and social cohesion.
YOUTH EMPWERMENT
The purpose of the center is to help the idle youth acquire skills and knowledge that will enable them finding alternative livelihoods hence address conflict arising from lack of employment. The resource center will be the basic tool for the local youth to gain skills. The center will also serve as a training facility for the proposed elections in 2024 as the facilities that will be installed will aid the capacity building efforts of the UN mission and the government, thus serving as a tool for promoting democratic ethos, good governance and inclusivity for all groups including the most vulnerable segments of the population.
