Child Welfare Committee training
Nasir Community Development Agency (NCDA) has strengthened the capacity of Community Child Welfare Committees in Nasir and Ulang County, Upper Nile State by delivering targeted training on child protection principles, equipping committee members with practical skills for case management, advocacy, and psychosocial support, and facilitating ongoing workshops that address local challenges such as child abuse and neglect. NCDA's collaborative approach, which includes partnership with local leaders and continuous mentoring, has enabled the committees to identify at-risk children, coordinate referrals to appropriate services, and raise community awareness about child rights and welfare, thereby fostering a more protective environment.
Support forchild soldiers
Nasir Community Development Agency (NCDA) has supported ex-child soldiers by organizing vocational skills training programs tailored to local market needs, enabling these youth to develop practical abilities in trades such as carpentry, tailoring, and mechanics. After completing their training, NCDA has provided small grants or start-up capital, allowing participants to establish their own small-scale businesses, which has been crucial for their economic independence and successful reintegration into society. This holistic approach not only addresses immediate livelihood needs but also fosters a sense of self-worth and belonging among former child soldiers by actively involving them in productive community life.
Children 's Clubs Training
Nasir Community Development Agency (NCDA) has established child clubs within schools in Nasir and Ulang Counties, providing students with structured platforms to discuss and address child rights, protection issues, and healthy behaviors. By organizing regular awareness sessions, peer-to-peer activities, and campaigns, NCDA has empowered club members to become child rights ambassadors, spreading crucial messages about safety, gender equality, and the importance of education among their peers. These efforts have helped foster a more informed and supportive school environment, encouraging positive behavioral change and collective responsibility among children.
