Agricultural Extension
NCDA, in partnership with Food for the Hungry International (FHI), has advanced agricultural extension in Nasir County through the large-scale distribution of high-quality seeds, treadle (foot-powered) pumps, and essential agricultural tools, targeting war-affected and food-insecure households. The initiative combined technical training and logistical support to equip local extension workers and community agricultural volunteers, who then trained thousands of farmers in improved cultivation techniques, irrigation practices, and seed selection. By providing access to staple and vegetable seeds, irrigation pumps for dry-season farming, and practical demonstrations on collective and individual farms, this collaboration has significantly strengthened food production, enabling households to restore livelihoods, improve nutrition, and increase resilience to environmental shocks in Nasir County.
